Comninos was founded by John Comninos and Evy Michalopoulos in 2006

with the clear goal of building a world-class law firm singularly focused on

serving the needs of clients.

Our Story

Since our beginnings we have delivered focused and responsive world-class Litigation, Commercial law, Criminal law and Family law services, tailored by industry and personalised to each clients needs.

JOHN COMNINOS

Graduating with B. Proc degree from the University of South Africa is 1997, John went on to be admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 1999. He has worked in a number of firms under the guidance and supervision of some of the best lawyers in town.

John specialises in Real Estate and Commercial Law with a strong Litigation, Family Law and Criminal Law practice.

John has had a vast amount of experience in the business world having owned and run a number of retail sites in AAA locations for international brands in South Africa.

John is an extremely strong communicator, with excellent people skills.

His compassion in and out of the courtroom ensures that his clients are clients for life.

EVY MICHALOPOULOS

PRACTICE MANAGER | SENIOR PARALEGAL

Evy launched the practice with John in 2006 and qualified with a Para-Legal diploma from

Intec-college with distinction.

Together they make a formidable team.

Evy is an extremely strong administrator and tactician and her kindness and empathy does not go unnoticed.

Evy has had tremendous experience in the business world having owned and run family businesses most of her life. Evy is involved in all client matters with John from the taking of instructions to the winning of cases in court.

Evy is the CEO of LIFEPROP REAL ESTATE, a professional real estate brokerage serving landlords and tenants, buyers and sellers of property in Jhb, Gauteng. The brokerage is comprised of a close group of talented professionals, led by the John Comninos. With unrivaled experience and market knowledge, LIFEPROP REAL ESTATE is a factor to be reckoned with.

Evy also sits on the board of Trustees for a body corporate as Chairlady and currently holds the position of CEO for THE MACHI FILOTIMO CANCER PROJECT a charity that she started in 2019 in honour of her late mother who tragically passed away from cancer.
